An irregular grandma...

Mike went fishing with his cousin today while I stayed at home and prepared the house for Kaylee's party tomorrow. We then went to dinner with my favorite Aunt & Uncle, my brother and his family and my mom and her friend. We all enjoyed our time together and had a bunch of laughs as usual. Of course, the best laugh came from Jennah - who else! It went something like this:

To start, I'll tell you that my mom made afghans for the girls (see pic).

Jennah: "Nonna, you used directions to figure out how to make this blanket?"

Nonna: "Yes I did."

Jennah: "Well that's cheating... If you were a regular grandma, you would be able to make a blanket without using the directions."

So, can someone define a regular grandma for me? I'm thinking it's one that puts up with smarty-pants kids like mine!

Practice day...

Today was Kaylee's practice day for school. She starts her official school week on Monday but we thought it would be nice for her to go today to meet her teacher and get used to her class. She did very well. I thought they'd have to pry her off my leg but it was not like that at all. She walked right in like she had been there many times before. On the way out, she threw herself on the floor and started crying "My school, my school!" I honestly had to bribe her to come with me! I felt better about sending her to school after spending some time in the classroom while the teacher did her normal routine. It was very structured and the ratio was excellent. Teachers definitely deserve more credit than what most people offer! Here's a picture of Kaylee with her school uniform on this morning. It's not a very good one as I took it with my cell phone camera.

A busy day...

I took Jennah to school this morning so I could drop off some paperwork for Kaylee and pick up some volunteer work. Afterward my aunt and I took off for more house hunting. There weren't as many homes to look at today which was probably a good thing as we had Kaylee with us. She did very well but it was getting old taking her in and out of her car seat! Tomorrow, I'll do some running around picking up some things for Kaylee's re-scheduled birthday party on Sunday. Oh, I'm also going to bring Kaylee to the school so she can get acquainted with her teacher and classroom.

Housing market...

Today I spent the day with my FAVORITE Aunt. We went out and looked at homes all morning and most of the afternoon. I was amazed at the number and price of new vacant homes here in Florida as well as the number and price of the homes being foreclosed on. Tomorrow will be much of the same as she is looking to buy a home this weekend. Jennah and I then treated my Aunt to our favorite dessert - RITA'S ! As most of you know - we are addicted to their yummy treats!

Our little Princess

Yesterday was Kaylee's last physical therapy appointment at All Children's Hospital in Tampa as she will be getting PT when she starts Pre-K next week. Kaylee was a bit tired and a bit grumpy to say the least... that is until Miss Kathleen gave Kaylee a "goodbye" present! Kaylee was soooo excited when she saw the "Princess Jewels". She screeched and yelled "It's beautiful!" She then gave Miss Kathleen a hug and told her "Thank you!" It was a cute but sad moment. I'm sure going to miss Kathleen but we will definitely stop by when we're in Tampa to say hello. here she is with her new jewels on.

Blog change..

Ok, I absolutely couldn't take that other green background I had. I tried but didn't make it to St. Patty's Day! I changed it to this one as it's more "me" and I can actually tolerate this color green rather than the previous one! Hope you like it!

Our little muffin...

I took Kaylee to the Dr. today for a check up and for her school physical. She's doing much better and I think she'll be over her cold in a few days! She weighed 25 lbs and is 35 1/2 inches tall. I went back and looked at Jennah's baby book. Jennah weighed 21 lbs when she turned 18 months old ! Big difference! All I can say is that we're making good use out of Kaylee's clothes as she wears them much longer before outgrowing them!

PS. Is it St. Patty's Day yet.. I honestly don't know how much longer I can take this green ! LOL
