Summer time...

Summer time! So far we're off to a good start with the kids being home from school. I've taken Jennah to bowling camp, gone to the movies, done sidewalk chalk and actually got a ton of housework done as well. We also managed to take down the crib and the toddler bed (that Kaylee refused to sleep on). This weekend, we'll maybe tackle the garage. We've been trying to have a garage sale for about a month now but Mike's been working into the wee hours of the night/morning and has been too tired. I can't blame him either. He did say he'd like to get it done this weekend which would be nice especially since we've got my oldest nephew here to help us! Of course the fact that we now have the remnants of the crib, toddler bed and two kiddie mattresses in my living room makes it even more of a priority. Oh yes, I'm reminded that there's an old tv stand here in the living room as well! Ugh!

Bowling camp

Jennah started bowling camp today. It's a summer program where for 8 weeks they teach the kids the basics of bowling. She had a blast! She did so well for her first time ever being in a bowling alley! They played two games and she scored an 80 on both! She got a strike on her first game and two spares in the second game. She said she really had a good time and can't wait to go back next week. Included in the camp fee is the cost of a bowling ball which she got to pick out today... Yes, of course it's pink with a purple-ish marbling! She'll be able to use it next week for camp as for now it needs to have the holes drilled into it! Here she is at camp with her coach and then with her new bowling ball...

Time Out Tuesday...

Well, here we are - another Time Out Tuesday! Yippee! I didn't cook dinner tonight but we didn't go out either. We've been dining out a lot this weekend so today I decided that I would just make soup for Jennah as it's her favorite. Mike and Kaylee found their share of dinner in the fridge via leftovers and I honestly wasn't that hungry at all. I did make dessert though. A trifle in my new trifle bowl which I love! It's from Pampered Chef but I bought it cheaper from an eBay auction! It's a good size bowl (15 cup) with straight sides and a removable base so I can take the bottom off and I don't have to worry about a stemmed bowl fitting in my refrigerator or in my cabinet for storage! Anyway, I layered cut up pieces of pound cake with black raspberries, strawberries and cool whip...mmmmmmm! It was very good and the best part is I have a lid for my bowl so I can toss the leftovers into the refrigerator for tomorrow! How cool is that? Here's a pic of the top of my dessert.. I didn't think to take a pic of the side view until after we dug into it. Oops, next time!

We did it..

We let Jennah turn seven today! I can't believe it's been that long. She's growing up so fast. We had a whole weekend of partying and fun things for her to do. She wanted to go to the new steakhouse in town for lunch and then to the craft store on Saturday to get some things to make. Saturday evening, we had some family come over for cake and ice cream. Then on Sunday, more family came over for lunch and dinner along with some good laughs and of course some Guitar Hero. I'm pretty sure Jennah had a good time - we all did! Here's a pic of her with her "Bratz" cake.
