Comic Relief...

Mike and I went to a comedy show last night - my excuse for not posting! We went to see Louis C.K. Oh my gosh was he ever funny. If you get a chance, he has some skits out there on You Tube and can also be seen on HBO. We had a very nice time. We also had a chance to get out and have dinner without the kiddos which we haven't done in forever it seems! Here we are with Louis after the show.

Little Person, BIG Words...

I always enjoy taking little rides around town with Jennah in the van. She can sure stir up some conversation. Read below for some shall we say...Little Person, BIG Words...

Jennah: "Mom, when I grow up, I don't want to get married."
Me: "You don't, why not?"
Jennah: "Well, I don't want to because I don't want to waste money to go to a hospital to have a baby."
Me: "Jennah, you can still get married and not have babies if you don't want them."
Jennah: "It's not that I don't want babies, I just don't want a symmetrical cut in my belly to get the baby out of my tummy."
Me: (speechless) "Oh."
Jennah: "Besides, how is the Dr. going to know that I have a baby in my tummy? Do I have to tell him and then he'll take it out? Or does he just know because the mommys are still fat even though they might be on a diet."

So, as I keep control of the car which is often hard to do while having a conversation with her, I'm thinking to myself 'my gosh, did she just use the word symmetrical in perfect context?' eek!

my closet...

Now that I have all this free time while both girls are in school, I thought I'd tackle my closet. Ugh, no wonder it looks like it does! I hate going through clothes to see what fits or for me, what doesn't fit! It's not a pretty sight. My goal is to have it done by the end of next week. Then I'll dive into my dressers to get those "weeded out". Eventually, I'll have an organized room again. Ok, maybe not. Maybe I'll just have a reason to go get some new clothes!

A whole new world...

Mike and I opened up a whole new world to the girls... you got it... Pop Rocks! Remember those! I put some in my mouth and the girls just looked at me after hearing them pop and crackle! I asked Jennah if she wanted to try some and at first, she looked at me and said no. Then she asked "Do they hurt you?" After convincing her that I would never give her anything that would intentionally hurt her, she tried a few. Of course, Kaylee was soon to follow sissy so she also had her share. They were funny to watch with the pop rocks crackling in their mouths! They really like them and ate just about the whole package. Too funny!

I Survived...

I survived Kaylee's first day at Pre-K! Ok, really though, it was almost TOO quiet today so I did think of my baby girl often! I even almost missed the Dora the Explorer shows! I managed to re-arrange and clean out my spice cabinet and do an hours worth of volunteer work for the school so I feel good about that. When I went to pick the girls up, Kaylee seemed happy to see me. I say seemed as she was a bit scared. I think all the kids gathered in one area and the cars pulling up may have frightened her. Her teacher said she did quite well for her first day. She only asked for mommy once and - get this- did NOT use her Binkie at nap time! YEA! Her teacher also said "She's quite the talker!" I'm sure Miss Lesa (Kaylee's previous speech therapist at All Children's Hospital) would be proud. I am!

Kaylee's Ride

We had Kaylee's birthday Party today. She loved her cake and all the gifts people gave her. Mike and I had bought a bicycle trailer for her/us so she can ride along rather than one of us pushing her in her little car. We set it up after everyone left and took the girls on a short ride as it was getting late. It was easy to set up and folds back down very nicely for storing. Needless to say, Kaylee loved it. She did not want to get out. I took a turn pulling her and was surprised that when riding the bike, you really don't feel any extra weight in the back - in fact, other than her talking and giggling, I wouldn't have known I was pulling a trailer. It was so easy.
