Turkey sandwich anyone...

Well, I meant to post this yesterday but the boys took over my computer. And by boys, I mean my nephew and husband! Anyway, I took Kaylee to feeding therapy yesterday as I always do on Mondays and it went well. Oh, so well, we actually got her to eat a turkey sandwich. Not like any turkey sandwich that you or I would normally eat, this was different. I purchased some super thin shaved turkey form the deli at our local market. It was sooo thin, you could read a newspaper through it! I then took it and chopped it up into little bits - not too small but nothing that my little finicky one would have to bite off in order to get it into her mouth. I then put the turkey onto a slice of bread, crimped and cut the crust off and there I had a nice little turkey puff type thing! After that, I sliced it into strips and then into little bite size squares. Now the gross part... dipped the little squares into COOL WHIP, grabbed some books and bubbles and there we sat - the therapist entertained her and I popped cool whip coated pieces of turkey sandwich into her mouth like a mommy bird! Towards the end, we left off the cool whip and she did eat the rest of the little bite size pieces! Yea! We finally got some meat into her! Seriously people, this is what we have to go through to get her to eat anything other than cookies and pudding or any other junk type treats. I can see it now... she'll have her college lunch box with her tub-o-cool whip in it where ever she goes to dine!

At least she'll be a cheap date-all she wants is desserts.
